New PunkBuster trouble !!

Hi there ,

I don't know why or what it is.. I updatet PB - I get kicked by the frist hit I do.. and you guys know .. I DIED MANY TIMES .. I do not us any Cracks/Cheats or what so ever .. ahhh ... I like to game on CAINSLAIR again!! ..On other Servers with PB - I do have no problems.. so anyone has a clue ??

There was another punkbuster update. I haven't updated yet and I play fine. This seems to be an update that needs to be done on the server too, maybe. I didn't update my PB and played all night last night without a hitch. Those who have updated their PB are having the problems. We'll have to see what happens and if Cain finds out that the server needs to be updated, as well.

Do you have your PB setting in game to auto download?

I've had no issues with PB once I turned it on.

Thats why I turned mine off. You can go into your options ...from now on... and disable the auto update feature. I did it as soon as I saw one of the other posts on this latest update.

on top of that PB has recently started kicking me and several other people for r_drawDecals=0, I had to go in my config and change it to 1, but its not setting that exploits the game, rather increases fps by 5-10%. I know its a server dependent kick, but maybe there should be some sort of Guideline @t what Cain requires on our config just so theres no gray area for people.

On another note I was also getting kicked even after I updated my PB and not for DrawDecals either. It was saying it couldnt initialize, so after reading about this issue online I was lead to the fix in these commands.
Bring down console (~) and type
/pb_security 0
and
/pb_system 0

after that all my PunkBuster issue have been resolved, I hope that helps for other people out there having PB issues.

I still haven't updated my PB since before this thread and I'm still playing fine without any errors.

I might go ahead and update this evening and see what happens and maybe I'll be able to help you guys who are still having trouble. I haven't edited any of my COD4 config files either.
