I am just curious as to what fuels certain players to do the cursing bit in COD4? Is it the age group or someone that just wants to be annoying or is it just plain inmaturity? I know we will always have those kinds of players show up on the server and it can be a bit annoying. Just wanted the communities thoughts and feelings on the subject.

*shrug* I curse like a sailor when not around you guys, and I'm not really an asshat or immature. I just choose to place an appropriately strong emphasis on my words when the need arises.

This game infuriates me like no other. Between being so fragile that a single bullet fired at random through smoke can kill you dead, and invisible cooked nades landing all over the place, it's frustrating beyond measure and leads to a LOT of cussing on my end.
Of course I personally don't feel a need to share that language over voice or chat, but I can understand where people are coming from when they vent!

I've been known to call bs when I think something is absolutely ridiculous...
I mean, a 5 ft. knife? Helicopter headshot through a window, behind a plank? come on.
otherwise, I dont see any reason to curse...
maybe d every once in a while if I do something stupid or if someone gets a really good kill, but thats as far as it needs to go.

I have played on other servers and one thing is for sure Cain I will never venture away from home as some servers can get really rank.

I agree with L_Mo and Karson! If I am having one of those bad game days ( just can't kill a thing ) I will either walk away for awhile or log of and try another day. If I curse its to myself but if one is using means of expressing ones displeasure about the game without typing what we are cutom to seeing then I think thats clever as it normally does not offend anyone.

I curse a lot when not here as well, but that's partly due to my sense of humor (wait for it :P)
One of my earliest memories is watching Good Morning, Vietnam. I was maybe 5 or 6. My parents (more my mom) were very liberal about not shielding us from "foul" language, as long as we knew that not everyone would care for it. We were not to use it in inappropriate places. I chose to just not curse until I was older. I remember watching Richard Pryor, George Carlin, all kinds of stuff like that. I learned very early on that cursing *can be* funny. It's not all the time, though.
I still listen to and try to emulate people like... well most prominent in my head is Lewis Black. I can listen to and laugh at comedians who don't curse, btw :P
My point is, some people may think the same way and curse in the server because they think it's funny. I have to admit, sometimes it makes me laugh. I don't let them know it, because I'm sure I'd get in trouble for "condoning" the foul language.
Also, as has been said, some people do it to annoy others or cause an INTARWEBZ FITE
Also, some people just don't care enough to censor themselves on a server that tries to be clean.
I'm sure that now it is easier for more age groups to learn cursing and think it's cool and all that, but it's hard for me to know it completely, because it was so available to me at a young age.
Personally, I will not shield my children (when I have them) from harsh language or anything like that, but I will teach them about respecting other people's sensibilities. I think teaching children about that instead of protecting them from it is a better approach. But I don't try to encroach my beliefs on anyone else.
I'm so diplomatic. Here are my beliefs, take what you will from them, but it you don't subscribe to the same theories, that's fine, too. And smiley faces. Lots of smilies.

wow, I turned that into a diatribe.
Apologies for being long-winded. Apparently I've found a hot-button issue! more smilies
