I think personally that there is a difference between cursing in general and being a bad sport.

I've always had a pretty foul mouth and have been known to say some choice words when I get killed now and again. I just don't say them on chat or VOIP.
As someone else said, there's nothing wrong with cursing, you just gotta be able to tell when to refrain. I have two kids, so I have to watch my mouth most of the time now.

*shrug* I curse like a sailor when not around you guys, and I'm not really an asshat or immature. I just choose to place an appropriately strong emphasis on my words when the need arises.

Personally, I cuss like a wounded pirate. Not flesh wounds, mind you. I'm talking about the kinda wounds that get you a nick name like "Lefty" or "Peg Leg" or "Plug Ugly Rico".

But what's the point in cussing over the net? How lame is typing profanity? I just kinda write it off as somebody being all safe and secure in their room trying to sound all bad to people they would probably never have the guts to tell off IRL.

I'm a pretty salty dog when not playing on Cain's Lair, I definitely admit that. But the important thing is to respect the rules of where you're at. I wouldn't walk into someone's church in the middle of a service and cuss and yell and carry on and so I wouldn't cuss in Cain's Lair. It's just common decency, like if someone told you not to smoke in their car. (If you smoke in my car, I will kill you. )

I never have a problem with the occasional HOLY $HIT !! that slips out over the VOIP.
Although not encouraged It does happen from time to time.

What I will NEVER understand, is the foul language over the text chat.
There is simply NO EXCUSE for that.

People think that they are anonymous in chat.

Someone 12yrs old may think they sound all grown up if they throw out
some )^(^*&^*%^ spam... It's all a chest beating thing really.

I used to have a boss that every 4th word was some kind of expletive. It
meant nothing personal, it was just how he talked normally day to day.
Then again, those 4 letter words no longer had any emphasis (Diluted) since they were used constantly.

My 12yr old likes to say "What Tha ".... and leave it hanging. He KNOWS
that he will get his tail warmed if it was finished out.

I have enough knowledge of the English language that I can express
myself without using language unbecoming. It is just the professional in
me that precludes spitting out garbage. Blue collar workers? It is just
part of their normal conversation where I am employed.

To each his/her own outside of the game. All the power to them.

The fact is, Young people DO play on most servers and the rules should be respected for this reason. On the other hand, I'm sure I am not the only one who has noticed, but those kids we are respecting the presence of, are the ones usually cursing more than anyone else.. ever.

I wanted to add. we have several members that are minors and off spring of adult members. I have never seen one of them act up, ever.
