    Teamwork tips

Some elementary things that I notice that can really help your team, even if they don't score big for you individually.

    1. If someone is operating a mounted MG, don't just wander off and leave them too it, watch their back (particularly in the barn or on pipeline).

    2. On crossfire, coat the street with smoke.

    3. Snipers - whacking people out in the open is easy yes, but the same applies to the other team. Us folks running around with light MGs make easy targets. So if at all possible make your priority enemy snipers, because we can deal with the random runners.

    4. Seriously, those of people who duck in and out of doorways that people need to get through are really irritating.

    5. More doorways - its best not to be right up on someones ass when following them through a doorway, if there is a grenade in the next room and they try to run out, and smash their face into your face before you die in a big blaze of boomdom, its not cool.

    6. You NEVER spawn randomly. You spawn in preset locations. If you spawn, and go prone in the location where you spawned, people will be spawning right behind you - they will then be trying to move and be wondering why the hell they cant because they wont notice you blocking them. Dont go prone in spawn points please.

I will yield the floor to better players for their advice. I think the speaker for his time.

No smoking on Crossfire, because then I can't countersnipe effectively :P

I like the smoke now that I don't worry about sniping on that map, so keep it up.

I think smoke should be used sparingly on Crossfire. Although it may seem odd, I have smoke in my sniper kit because it is good for if you need to set up in a position or if you are getting hammered by someone with an LMG. Bottom line- Smoke should not be used to just run up the middle where you will most likely die of a random nade spam.

I basically snipe on 2 maps and 1 of them is crossfire. The games where it's just a constant smoke screen are pretty much wasted time for me. Seriously, it's entirely possible to run a complete lap around that map and hardly ever have to step foot out onto the street so why do people just get it in their head they have to chuck a smoke nade as soon as they spawn? Royally ticks me off. But hey, you wanna ruin a round for about 25% of the players be my guest.

Snipers ALWAYS look for the opposing snipers first. Why? Because a) those are the ones we are matched up against head to head, b) they're our major threat because they're hunting us right back and c) if you take down the opposing snipers it's almost always a head shot and you gotta know I love painting the walls red. The funnest rounds are when you can get on the opposite end of the street with someone like -413- and just start looking for the tops of each others pointy heads.

I don't carry smoke, but when I play Crossfire and someone smokes the street, I'll often use that as cover to cross over and attempt to get behind the enemy lines from the other side, especially if I'm having a lot of opposition on whichever side I was trying.

What annoys me on that map is when your "allies" smoke the frigging ROOM you are in. That's not helpful.

Smoke on any map can be good and bad. Yesterday on BLOC, my team administered the worst beat down I've ever seen on this map. OUR team was mostly LMG and SMG kits and the other had probably 50% snipers and we had the enemy team backed up all the way to the swimming pool area for the entire round. Rand, you saw it, lol, and they never did start spawning on the other end of the map. It was pure punishment and had I been on the receiving end of it, it would have been enough to make me leave the server about half way through the round. I actually started feeling sorry for them. I think the round after that, the server was not nearly as full as it was going into that round. I believe there were 42/50 players online the next round. It was a shameful event for the opfor.

                    Another tip for snipers.

If you choose to be a sniper on any given map (useless on vacant) you will be doing your team a favor and helping out if you keep your eye on the radar and try to predict where your team is trying to penetrate enemy lines. After you get a good idea on where your team is hitting a roadblock of enemy troops, try to position yourself to take out enemy targets where the friendlies are trying to penetrate. This will assist the squad by taking out the enemy where they may have set up an ambush and are picking off your team one at a time when they try to get through. Also keep an eye out for enemy stray snipers who are trying to get away from the action so they can do the same.

Early on in Crossfire, you CAN go through the rooms on the right side, all the way to
the marine's back yard. If 3-4 go together, you can major trash them.
Nothing more fun than you and a couple of buddies getting behind and going on a killing
                      spree.

After the initial rush though, the 2 room routes are nade spam death. Stepping out to
the side will get your head blown off by the enemy snipers. It does me no good to know
that my sniper team killed him AFTER he torched me. Often though, kill cam shows they
never got touched, as they do the pop and drop action, so they are ready to off me as
soon as I respawn. I've been on teams that were 75% snipers, and I STILL got ganked
as soon as I uncovered if I didn't use smoke.

After repeatedly dying from trying the room rush, and getting instantly dead by sticking
a toe out in the street or beside the buildings, smoke became my friend.
It isn't a constant smoke round, so still plenty of opportunities for snipers on both sides
to kill unwary troops. The big boys use smoke to cover their rushes, and crank out
those 30-40 kills. I'm just following their example.

It can be pretty bad when you are rushing, and someone STOPS right in the route. That
is just like stopping in the middle of a door. You are a sitting target. (Kinda, Sorta)
Example of a 190 pound running back running into a 350 pound defensive lineman.
Can we say Brick Wall? You are no longer running, so nades or shooters can easily
                      take you out.

BLOC? Another sniper heaven. Some of the jitterbugs can make it across the plaza
without resorting to smoke. (Needle, Aqua, ...) I'm not as shifty, so I need something
                      to keep me alive longer.

That issue with Bloc was a hiccup in the code. With us having pushed them back like that, normally they would have started spawning behind us, but for some reason they didn't. It's because of that more than our pressure that really screwed them over.

Maybe it was just the 2 of us beating them to pieces lastnight....

That was a hilarious, awesome round against Andrew on Vacant. He didn't touch me at all, and I headshotted him from about 2 feet away at least twice, knifed him 3 times, and killed him about 5 other times that round, without dying to him once. I also greatly enjoyed our running conversation as we went after him.

He did get me about 3 times the next map though.

If you have a high mobility weapon then you can pretty much run straight from one front door to the other on Bloc and make it 80% of the time because all the sniper types are looking into the 2nd floor windows across the yard. Running with an lmg on the other hand.....

BTW, anyone ever see the episode of "Band of Brothers" where the new company commander basically runs straight through the middle of a firefight down a street, twice, to get information to and from his other squad? Running across bloc is kinda like that.
