Suggestion: Lower the number of players

    The problem with bumping the max down to 30 would be that its hard enough now to get in the server, if you cut the number in half it would be even harder. I do like the large numbers though.

      Large numbers isn't the problem, you are looking at it all wrong! To me the large numbers merely translate into "target rich environment." Problem solved


      Hehe, on the other hand, I understand about nade spam, ugh. 25% of my deaths on some maps are grenades blindly thrown over walls or into the air. Another 25% from airstrikes and helicopters. Crazy.

        Obviously you don't know Cain very well. Cain servers will always run the maximum supported players, and sometimes more than that.

          Just remember, during the early mornings and during the day, it is off and on low counts. We had something like 20 people on this morning when I played. So at times, you can get the smaller map/count feeling, and it becomes less of a nade spam fest.

          But yes, I've jumped on before and got blasted into teeny tiny bits a half dozen times before I ever moved a toe. Before I can complain about nades, I have to ask the question. Do I Use them TOO? The answer is YES. So there ya go.

                My kills on any given map would go down from say 50 all the way to 10. I like it when there are so many players that you can just pull the trigger and knock down three people in front and two behind you just from the recoil. Lets get a MOSH PIT.

                  Seriously, some nights the nade spam pisses me off and I hop in a 20 man hardcore sab/hq/tdm server it gets so bad.
                  Normally after the 6th nade death in a row without any worthwhile kills I leave.

                    When it gets that bad, just run the other way and come up behind the enemy .. find one that is tossing nades and go stab him, teabag him and repeat. The best part of being in the enemy territory is the fact that your own team's nades wont' kill you so you can pretty much run freely around while gouging people with your knife if your team's nades don't beat you to it.

                    Then, you have always got that one asshat on your team that doesn't have 3x nades yet so he goes running around tossing stuns and flashes and he will usually disable you so that the enemy can work you over.

                          Is there any possibility of turning the existing HQ server into a 24- or 32-man TDM server? It just seems such a waste to see it empty so often, and that would also satisfy some of the guys (like me) who just think 50 men on a small map is just way too spammy.

                          Of course, I didn't learn the real meaning of insanity until I visited a FFA 50-man server. Now THAT'S crazy.

                            That is the one thing that irritates me the most on COD4........Nades!

                            And I hope that they come out with some new maps soon as playing for the last 3-4 months on the same maps.....over & over & over.......it's starting to get for me.

                            As for the amount of people on the server......I think some of the maps are ok for 40+ people and other maps look like they are made for 20 or less people.

                            It doesn't matter to me how many are on....just more to kill

                              I say more the merryer i would like to see 150 to 200 players per game it would make it more fun.but i would die a lot quicker,O well.......thy...moe.
