Congratulations Batmanside! The AK was OK for me the hardest one for me by far was the G3. Took FOREVER. Finally started getting somewhere with it when I attached the ACOG, and gave it Stopping Power and Deep Impact.

As to the question of whether Batmanside is a knife maniac in this game... I answer yes, for him. The last couple of times I've seen him he decides to knife only... on his own. And he kept getting me! :P

Question: I just managed to get the red camo for my trusty RPD last night, but I'm now confused as to how to get it in gold. Reading the CoD4 guides, it says to achieve every weapons challenge for that gun. Well, I > HAVE < done that for the RPD ! What am I missing ??

You only get one golden gun per class of weapon. To earn it, you have to achieve every weapons challenge for that class. What this means for light machine guns is that you need to finish all the marksman and expert challenges for all three guns to earn the gold M-60. There is no gold RPD.

This means that some of the gold guns are essentially useless, because one would choose to use something else. Submachine guns are a good example. The gold is the mini-uzi, but most people are going to use the P90 or the MP5 because they are far better weapons.

P.S. I got the gold Dragunov last night, so I have finished all challenges in the game. I guess I'll use that on my sniper kit for awhile, but I was liking the .50. I'm currently trying the MP5 for smg, and have the gold shotty, AK, and M60 on my other classes.

Aww crap .. no wonder I haven't seen/heard of a gold RPD. Well that does indeed make it worthless. Thx Rand. I guess I will start toying with different weapons and perks to try some stuff out.

The only gold weapon I actually use is my m1014 shotgun

If you see me using a gold weapon other than that, I must be bored.

I'm just horribly OCD, so I made it my duty to obtain the gold weapons. I use M4 or M16, MP5, RPD, and .50 Barrett. I was using m21, but meh. The other day I went insane on Overgrown with my Barrett. I was sniping EVERYONE. It was crazy.

Well, the RPD challenge is done, the M60 is over halfway done for Expert III and now its on to the SAW, which I was further along than I thought I was. I have not touched the SAW since the first two weeks I got the game, but .. good grief, that weapon is hands down better than either the RPD or M60 !!! No recoil !!! I was tearing it up with that last night, but my elbow tendinitis is back with a vengeance so I'll take another week vacation before getting back into the game.
