Five minute ban? For THAT?

Well, there is this odd little way to get banned that annoys me quite often. Having a blank name between name changes causes you to be banned for FIVE MINUTES!? What if you like to change your names often, like me and my freinds? Having just been banned for the 26th time in the last week(NOT an exaggeration) from trying to change my name, I decided to post before returning. This is all good that they have a PB banner for that, so that if someone is hacking they can be banned, yet merely from trying to change my name, i leave it blank for a few seconds to think, and BAM! Out i am for five minutes, to try another server for a round or two. Im just wondering why that has a ban thats longer then using inappropriate language, which usually is just for 0 minutes. All of the people who I know in real life that plays this game (and on this server, too!) changes their names often.

Just to let you know that in most cases the use of inappropriate language language will almost certainly result in a permanent ban from our server, and not a kick for 0 minutes. Can't really help you with this problem but i guess the PB protection is there for a reason.

Well, lets get down to the issue... Are you in a perm-a-ban from the server, or can you get back in? To me it sounds a little bit vague.

Now that sounds like some form of Admin action. We don't auto kick for language at the moment.

Back to the original problem, please.

You say your stop and think about the name you want to use. Well how about thinking about it BEFORE you change your name. Then you will have a very small window where you might get caught by PB.

Otherwise it's just silly to complain here about a PB action. We do not control how PB works, nor do we have any input to how or why PB kicks/bans people.

And, Yes, occasionally we might kick someone for 0 mins for language IF we feel like getting someones attention that hasn't been too bad.

And to be honest, I could care less about the people who keep getting banned for that.

If you absolutely need to change your name, change it before the round ends, or at the start of the next round. Or, if you aren't able to do that quickly enough, leave the game, change your name, and then return. Problem Solved.

It Does seem strange for people to change their names constantly.
USUALLY, it is because they did something or said something that would get them
kicked or banned, and they are "Hiding" by changing their name. That way they think they can still play on the server after they have caused problems.

Not to say you and your friends are breaking rules, but that is the perception, and certainly flags it for admin's to watch carefully.

We get used to seeing certain people on the server, and either like to play along with them, or LOVE to kill them. You can't do that easily if you keep changing names every round.

A mini-kick by PB seems like a small price to pay for doing this on a regular basis.

As for the problem at hand. Can we ask WHY you are changing your name? I don't find it that fun. I change my name once and than change it back. How do you cope with playing other games that *NEVER* let you change your name?

And for my final question, when you change your name... do it when you can THINK of a name. A blank name probably means that you can break the rules of the server and people would not understand who you are. Or if you kill someone and it says "killed by" with nothing after it, it can easily confuse them and think there are cheats or hacks present in the server.

So my advice, find a name, and stick with it. If you've been banned 26 times, meaning you've been banned for 2 hours and 30 minutes, assuming you've been banned for 5 minutes each time, you should really think about STOPPING the whole nonsense and stick with a name.

Also it makes us happier if we can identify a forum name with a player name.
