    Possibly the Not Working Problem

    Okay, I think the problem has to due with the sound card. Don't you have to change it with a stereo setting or something? When I first played a couple months before the wipe (?) I had the same problem, but my brother(Albert) changed something with stereo sound. Anyone help?

    I've never had a problem with any sound card messing up cod4.. however there use to be problems with one of the files in the CoD4 folder regarding a sound that was used in the game. I don't recall if any of the past 3 patches have fixed this though.

        Do you have onboard sound, or are you using a certain sound card?

        Also, lets get computere computer specs. I'll even provide a format for you to use.

        cpu:
        Ram (ammount and type):
        video card:
        harddrive(s):
        OS :
        motherboard:
        PSU:
        Any processes aside from windows processes:
        Are any specific errors given when multiplayer crashes:

            I understand that, but having the specs helps to determine the exact cause of the problem. Untill we find the cause of the problem we can't find the solution. I mean... lets say you are a doctor, and somebody comes in complaining that they have a fever and are throwing up, but they don't tell you what they ate the date before, or what their usual routine is then it's harder to diagnose the problem. See?

              Except we've never seen your computer, don't know what's running, or what he even changed for that matter. Giving us something to work with helps us help you. Either that or we start shooting off random ideas and screw up your rig worse. Your decision. Or you can always go fiddle around with things yourself until you fix it or screw things up worse.

                    Hum, that's still very vague. Ok, lets try this. Are you using onboard sound or a sound card that was put into the computer? like a soundblaster card or something along those lines?

                        Try this...

                        I experienced the same problem and just got it fixed; it's a problem with the Realtek audio driver that is configured badly at installation. When you go to the control panel, audio option, you must go to properties and show hidden attributes, the stereo playback must be enabled and that's it..let's thank those guys at Realtek for making something simple so complicated. We beleive the reason behind the fact that single player works fine and not multiplayer is due to the on-line communication system, voice chat etc... I did not fix the problem myself but I hope my explanation is clear enough to help you out... Good luck!
                        Found it in a google search. I can provide the link to you if you wish.
