    screen refresh rate

    hello all
this has been bugging me for a while
you know like there is an in-game screen refresh rate option
i have a dell monitor 24 inch LCD, and it only supports 60Hz, but in the in-game option there is also 75Hz. What would it do? is it gonna make a difference?
    Thanks

From what I've heard overtime is you wouldn't be able to tell the difference visually. Our eyes can't detect it. I may be wrong. I don't think it matters. You could try it and see if it is smoother?

I have a dell 17" e772c.. it supports 60Hz at its max res of 1280x1024 and 75Hz at 1024x768. Alot of monitors.. I don't know its its true about LCD's but some can handle better refresh rates at smaller than max res for the monitor.. I'd look up your model and check it out.

        thanks guys
my monitor is the 24 inch WFP-HC
btw, i tried the 75 Hz once and turned vsync on, fps is still capped at 60. I guess it aint workin then?

Leave it at 60hz. 60hz is the default refresh rate for the native resolution.

keep in mind that (for me anyways) 70hz can be easier on the eyes. I know that for me the difference between 70hz and 75hz doesn't make much of a difference, but man can I tell between 60hz and 70hz.

There are some people that can tell the differences in refresh rates. Most can not though.

I could tell on a CRT but not a LCD.

                  thanks for the replies guys
i understand that 75 should be better
but what im wondering is if its gonna really work
because my monitor only supports 60 but the in game option also has 75
im a total noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, sorry if the question is kinda stupid
                  Thanks again

so basically its more about why the in-game option has choices that is outside my monitor's. COD4 is like the only game i have that offers that option in-game. is it gonna make a difference if i choose 75?
                  Thanks again

If your monitor only supports 60hz (like most LCD monitors) leave it alone and do not choose 75hz.
