    CoD4: SP - didja complete it ??

After going four days without internet access due to a hardware fault on a pole in our neighborhood, I pretty much played and finished every single player game that I own, and I now consider myself a master at both Hearts and Texas Hold 'Em Poker, as well as an accomplished Peggle Extreme wizard.

But by far the best offline gaming experience had to be CoD4. I've always played the SP versions of the previous CoD series, and then moved on to the MP game. So this was a backwards one for me, as I exclusivly played the MP side and never touched the SP side.

Well, that all changed, and I was blown away at the way this game played out. Those that have played it know some of the parts that I am talking about .. one of those OMGWTF moments for sure. The 'moment' still hadn't sunk in until the game continued and things had obviously changed for my in-game character.

If you haven't played the SP side, I highly recommend it. I haven't gone back to MP after getting gold and burning out after that. TF2 made it easier to forget CoD4 as well, but I wouldn't rule out a return to knife fights with Naillik and -413- either.

So, I remember this was an old thread that floated around, but what were your favorite CoD4 SP moments ??? AC-130 was by far my favorite, and now that I've unlocked the game I play that just to hear the 'BOOM!! That one landed about 2 feet away from that guy !" comments.

My mum keeps takin my internet so I've been playing through SP games too. I beat CoD4 on xbox and I loved it.
Really awesome gameplay in it. So far this week I've played through C&C3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (which makes me sad because I only got halfway before my FPS on it went nuts and decided to stay at a sad sad 1 fps)
Doom 3 which was freakin awesomely scary..

CoD4 SP is great though. ty for reminding me WT, ima reinstall

All I want to know is did you let the credits roll at the end to see what happened afterwards?

        haven't finished it

But I have played it. I also liked the AC 130 missions...played them over and over, just to make a mess of the place. Can you imagine getting an AC 130 gunship to call in after the helicopter on multiplayer?

A game that i played when i had no internet because they were adding new lines was Oblivion 4 and it happened the week I got it which was pretty convenient because i wasn't going to play any online games anyway.

Let the credits roll but I didn't let them finish. I remember reading the old thread that there were things in the game that would really shock you, so I guess I hafta replay that end mission and let it roll.
One thing that someone might answer .. on the sniper mission to kill the Russian: Why does he appear at the end of the game if I sniped him just a few missions ago ?? Wasn't it the same guy that I killed a few missions back ?? I'm confused ..

Ohhh, and a vote for my second favorite level was the Ferris Wheel right after the Sniper mission. I was killing them off left and right with the Claymores !! I was smart enough to position them far away and to the left and right, then hid behind the ticket booth by the ferris wheel, with my sniper partner occupying the mound to the left of that spot. It was easy to hold off the attackers from there, and I never was in danger with my Claymores in place and wreaking havoc on those dumb Russkies.

I really liked the SP. A very well played out story line. I don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't played yet, but I was shocked at one point in the game, and thought, OMG, that didn't just happen.

I actually got the game from d2d after i played around with the demo version just a couple weeks ago, right after the DL finished i played the single player straight through. To be honest, i was actually aprehensive about playing the multiplayer part of the game . I haven't played a single FPS in about 3 or so years so i am kinda back to the suck stage, but i'm actually havin' a ton of fun! Anyways, the parts in the SP game that blew me away were the opening "wetwork" mission (the motion of the boat actually made me have to pause the game periodically ) and the nuclear blast event. i just watched it going "man, this is way more badass than anything i remember playing!"

Then of course, at the end of the game, i was watching the credits, wife telling me it's time for bed...so i shut the game down thinking "holy monkeys! i just played throught the best action movie i've ever seen!"

didn't even think to let the credits play through.

overall, one of the best SP experiences i've had in a long time.

Go to mission select on the main menu after you beat the game and there will be a new chapter called epilogue with a single mission called ????

Ohhhh so THAT'S what we are getting at ??? Yea, I played that as soon as the SP was over and I had unlocked the level selection. I tried it on Hardcore at first, with Arcade mode next. Its a very short timer on the level as well, so you really have to just FLY thru it and hopefully not run out of ammo at just the wrong moment.
If you sprint forward, you can knife the first guy coming out of the john.

The guy you sniped is in the end because in the game you actually missed. Notice in the earlier spots you see him with a half-arm. In the sniping mission, it is in the past and you see him with two arms and you proceed to snipe him, missing and blowing his arm off. Later, when you see him again, he is 'post-snipe' and in a present timeline.

Hope that helps Walkin' Target. Oh and if you ever want some pointers lemme know in PM's. I could help improve your game.

Holy crap .. how did I miss that ??? I honestly thought I killed him, as he fell into a crumpled heap, and then all HELL broke loose !! I was trying to snipe the rest of the baddies and never realized that I hadn't finished that guy off !!

The SP gameplay is very good, never see game with gameplay like that, it's very immersive.

Might try to do it again with a highest difficulty and hardcore ON if possible

I played it on veteran , and gave me some VERY VERY VERY hard times. But i loved it. And after the credits, there is another mission on a plane , that was one of the hardest missions EVER!

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
