Here's the thing, to keep it fun you would have to put on Friendly Fire, that is a must to keep the grenades down. HC isn't that bad if their are no nades. You would have to also make it so Marty is off that way you don't kill your own teammates when the marty carrier dies.
Rotate the gametypes Cain, and put a good mix in their.
More maps would have to be on, put in the new ones, even Killzone. It's quick and wouldn't be on for more than 3 minutes if you don't lower the player count.
The player count would have to be lowered to say 32 or 36. Current amount on HC would be annoying.
If it's custom, disable the nades, and then you'll see a much more enjoyable game emerge and who the real players are.!
This will be fun, I'll have to try it.

For me Hardcore mode please!! That's the first thing to consider, it's much more funny.

Also rotate gametype between TDM/HQ/SD/Sabotage could be a great thing. I sometime play somewhere else where it's like that and it make the game much funny because the gametype change and it's not always the same thing.

But overall Hardcore own :P
