Punkbuster

Guys I joined the server a few moments ago, and while specing was kicked by punkbuster for this error: RESTRICTION: disallowed program/driver [90042]. I haven't updated any system drivers in the last 2 weeks, and I've played since the lastest install.

My current Nvidia driver: 6.14.11.7519
Driver date: 05/16/2008

Any thoughts?

UPDATE: I went to evenbalance.com and updated my pbsetup, and still get kicked. I googled the error, and seems to be alot of people getting kicked for the same error. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Would try maybe reinstalling the latest patch or at worst reinstalling but i've never personally encountered any problems so i don't know myself if there is an easier way to fix these problems.

Make sure IM and chat programs are shut down on you system before playing too. Seems like that's one of their latest updates was related to.

I got that and I think all I did was turn all my settings to default. not sure though

Thanks for your response(s) guys. I made a report to evenbalance this morning, but haven't gotten any response thus far. I'm sure they stay up to their ears in work.

I don't use chat. I close all programs that are none essential prior to game play, and really the only app. that I have running in the background is the gpu cooler (RivaTuner v2.09)that I've used for ages. (sli 8800gts 640). thats why I'm baffled.. nothing has really changed about my system that should cause a kick from pb.

Just a thought...I had the same problem with BF2 awhile ago and it was due to me being lazy and dllin a NO-CD Fixed EXE to save me the hassle of always looking for my CD.

I talked with Evenbalnce cause I legally purchased the game but they informed me the Fixed EXE's will do it

I updated my setpoint driver, and everything seems to be working again. I use a G15 keyboard and it must have been outdated? anyway thats for the help offered earlier. I appreciate you all!

Not sure, but after updating that program it worked, lucky? I filled out a ticket at evenbalance.com and copied my process list to the ticket for evaluation but haven't heard from them. I think their really busy folks. whatever the case I'm back in the saddle
