It should be. It's part of the reason I crouch whenever I start to take a shot at someone. In BF2 for PS2, I would go straight to prone before shooting someone.

It increases accuracy while making you a harder target to hit for most people. Sometimes if people get your pattern, they learn to just shoot straight down at your feet and when you go prone you get hit in the head :\.

And when you crouch, it allows my double tap Uzi to hit you between the eyes more quickly. I've already hit as you squeeze that trigger....

To answer your question, yes stance changes accuracy, but it still majorly depends on the individuals skill in real life.

If you watch me play in any of the games except TF2 you'll see me crouch before I fire.
Same reason, less spread.

Test it yourself, fire at a wall with 10 shots from a weapon (full auto)
then change stance, and repeat.
