I know campers are only behind marty for most hated but i gotta tell ya, I loves me a good camp kill. I usually end up with one of the lowest scores but giggle my butt off when someone calls me a camper and then i tag him from behind the trash cans again! My God, if i could hide inside the Coke machine and shoot out the coin slot i would.

Maybe if i had the reflexes of some of the younguns here i would go all rambo too, but since i don't i gotta get my jollies the old fashioned way ... deceit and trickery.

It is strangely fun to have someone rush me, get mowed down, and then come back thinking they might get me this time . I now shall call myself the western frilled swamp camper.

I do not ever see camping to be an issue, it is a strategy that has allowed me to have more kills than deaths in many a round and when you play tactical HC games you do not want to be the moron with your best chicken with the head cut off routine

Anytime someone in the game types "OMG CAMPER", I have to respond. Number 1, as with calling out "OMG NOOBTUBE" and the like, what does the person want to happen when they type this? Does he/she expect the person in question to go, "oh god, I'm using a grenade launcher, but it's synonymous with being called a NOOB? I must stop using it right away!".

No, they're going to use what they like because they paid for that game, and they're having fun.

Number 2 - more pertaining to camping - I always call out that I LOVE campers. They're usually easy kills. If you KNOW where they ARE, then why are you having trouble killing them? They're not running around, they're not gonna come up behind you, they're sitting there, doing nothing but waiting for someone to come in their normal field of vision. Toss a nade in or something.

I know there are some campers who are better than others, and they're ready for stuff like that, and as said above, I will be the one to keep rushing in over and over till I kill that camper. Just as it's strangely fun to kill someone rushing you over and over, it's strangely fun to keep trying over and over and finally get it done.

So anyway, I love campers, and don't see why people can't deal with them.

I assure you, it can be a hoot. I am quite sure Dr. Box and I were having the most fun on the HC server tonight. When 2_Wycked accused us of popping up from behind every mailbox, crate and Toyota I about peed myself! When Box was prone on top of a phone booth I didn't think it could get any funnier until Wycked ran by right under him! Pop! I respect the talents of you run and gun types but I think cat and mouse is an extremely viable (and UNpathetic) way to get some laughs.

Now I just gotta work on my fall back positions so I quit getting killed by guys who spy me out on the kill cam. I think I've got a reason to put some all new quality time into cod4!

Camping is good. It's how good teams win in HC. Have a few run n gunners, the rest campin key spots.
What annoys me is how people call snipers campers and get mad... seriously, what do you want a sniper to do? run around and try and noscope you?

I love a good camping spot. Easy solution for people who don't like campers - Snipers, nades, flashes and stuns.

I myself like camping, if you want to call it that. I have no issues with anyone who just wants to pick a spot and stay there. If it's a good spot I'll complement them when I find out where they are and try and take them out.
I myself like the hit a couple and move tactic. In real life if you're a sniper and you even suspect you position has been compromised it's take a kill or two and run like hell to find a new spot to watch the spot you were at and the usual targets.

Camping is only a "problem" in an objective based game (cap flags) when most of your team is sitting back and not getting the objectives. All other times, it's legit and should be expected. Those who complain about it and are actually serious in their complaints need to either learn more about online games, or grow up.

I'm also in the "liking as many campers on the other side as possible" group--because I can take them out easier when they are pinned in place, they let me get to their objectives easier when they're not pushing forward and forcing me to react to their movements, and if I need or want to camp, I'm good at predicting others so I know when they're going to focus on coming after me, and I can be set up to annoy them even more.

I think I especially like people trying to camp in a game where I have access to a tank. There aren't any safe places for folks in that situation, and it's pretty fun to shoot a shell about 2,000 yards away and blast out some guy from his perch who thought he was safely hidden away.

I'm also almost as good at taking out tanks on foot as I am in a tank (good tankers also tend to make good tank busters), so it's fun to come up behind some tank that thought it was dominating our team and just take it out with puny foot weapons.

Camping is a legitimate strategy. I myself usually employ a hybrid strategy in the HC server that's part run n gun and part camping. It depends on the map and the other team, too. Sometimes it's successful, sometimes it isn't.

I actually enjoy frustrating the run n gunners with claymores and camping, but there are some like Rye who are just so good it still doesn't work.

Sitting back and making the enemy come to YOU, and fight on YOUR terms is a smart strategy in many ways. Essentially when someone complains about "campers" in a TDM-style game, they're complaining because you're not playing to their strengths. Well cry me a river.
