Graphics/safemode troubles

Hey, ever since earlier today, my freind who was over started CoD4 in safe mode, which ALWAYS messes the graphics up. The trouble is, normally playing in non-safe mode fixes it, or restarting the computer. However, i tried everything that worked before, and the graphics still are all messed up. I spawn, everything starts turning white, eminating from these splotches on the screen, and i try moving, and turning, where my gun was is a weird shadow, and similar things. I'm just VERY worried about this, because I've spent a while trying to get headshots and such, and i don't want to have to reintall.

All i know, is that next time he is over here, i will NOT let him play CoD4, or even touch my computer, again.

When you start in safe mode it sets all your graphic settings to default, did you reset everything it, resets sound also.

i have started mine in safe mode before.i fixed it by going to game options and choosing the optimal settings option.

jeffro said what I was going to. Go into the Game Options and choose Optimal Settings.

I have a lame graphics card, so my optimal settings aren't that great. I have to add specular so my guns is shiny
