I lost my COD WaW profile today so I made me a wrapper .cmd file to prevent that in the future. Just download the attached start_WAW.txt file, copy it to your directory where WAW is installed and rename it to a start_WAW.cmd file.
You will need to update a few variables in it so it will know where you profiles are installed and where you want to copy the backup of the profiles too. Be advised this thing will use timestamps on the directories it copies the profile to and it will create a backup before and after you launch the game. So you will want to maintain the directory so it don't take up too much space.
Once I placed the start_WAW.cmd file in the directory with the CoDWaWmp.exe executable, since I use steam to run the game I then updated the properties on the shortcut in steam to run the start_WAW.cmd file instead and used the icon for the CoDWaWmp.exe so it would still have the look and feel of the game.
