myCull's WIP Thread
Hey guys, I've got a lot going on, so far I have 4 CSGO maps in the works and I feel like I have enough content to show it off and generate some discussion.
By the way, my name is pronounced Michael. myCull is just a nerdy mapper name I have, because, ya know, culling.
First things first, here is my CSGO 5v5 competitive map named De_Darzi. I am being commissioned to create this map. This map has almost identical rotation timings to De_Dust2. I have the goal of using lots of colours, I think CSGO is too brown and washed out. Bombsite A has a Red/Orange/Yellow/Gold theme, and Bombsite B has a Blue/Green/White/Turquoise theme. I am doing this to help guide players, and to try and touch as wide as a spectrum of colour as I can while remaining acceptable. All details in this map are typically above where the player can go, and I've not added a single barrel or random piece of junk to be in the way. There is only one section of the map where passing through water is necessary, and believe me it fits into the competitive mold in a unique way. Both bombsite A & B have unique skill jumps which are challenging, risky, and rewarding to pull off in a scrim. The map layout is complete, and my first art pass will be completed soon, and the map will be ready as Beta 1 in about 2 weeks.
