Hello Cain's lair forum members, this will be my first post. im unsure if im posting it in the right area as i didn't really find a "suggestion box" of sorts, so if its in the wrong section could an admin please re-locate this topic.
ive been playing on cains lair a fair amount recently but id like to make some suggestions on various topics to help improve the server as a whole. This is going to be a fairly lengthy and organized(i hope) post so if your not fond of reading, might as well skip over now.
First off I'd like to say thanks for having Nuke VE as well as a few other very well designed competitive maps (like mirage) but there are some maps that i have issues with as well some basic flaws in the overall map picks.
1. USE _SE versions of all maps if possible
I can't stress this enough, they come with the game by default and are probably already on the server. playing dust2 with out SE version makes taking B site from T a nightmare if ur going to have someone on platform. For those who don't know, valve made _SE versions of every default map IE inferno_SE dust2_SE train_SE etc etc etc... there is no reason to ever not use them as they are better from an overal competitive standpoint. The SE versions of every map removes a lot of "dust" particals that impair peoples vision from certain angles as well as overall its just a cleaner version of the map. There is a reason why every league uses _SE versions (ESEA, ESL, MLG, CEVO, AA..the list goes on) you obviously care about your maps balance if you have nuke_VE in ur rotation(thank you for that btw) so why not simply use the _SE versions of the maps as well?
2. Some maps need to be removed
certain maps are plainly not balanced and with a 32 man server are just not even fun to play and have been known to kill the server(people leave) the following maps should be removed forever and burned in a hole until they can be made competitive. de_dust, de_aztec and de_vertigo all come to mind as the most unbalanced maps currently in the rotation. they are all very VERY easy to 15-0 first half as CT, this overall makes the game honestly not fun for anyone on the terrorist side as people just decide to simply camp and drag the game on longer. These maps should be removed until a map maker re balances the maps. (after double checking i realize you guys recently updated your map pool, thank you but im going to leave this in here because i already typed it out and it only re-enforces your current map pool)
2. Time
1. Buy Time too short
The current buy time is set to 5 seconds to buy, this is ridiculously low. even using buy Keybinds i still end up leaving spawn when the server is full almost at 2:10-2:15 a full 10-20 seconds after im able to buy. i strongly urge you to increase the buy time to 8-10 seconds. Lets face it, some people are slow at buying or are just distracted, being delayed because ur teammates are blocking really hurts any possible rush strat you could do
2. Round time too long
2:30? i know in league 5v5 its 1:45 round time, but 2:30 is just crazy long. make it a solid 2 minutes. this will speed up rounds and reduce the time where players sit idle waiting for the round to end. i just finished a game on train and of the 9 rounds on T i played, 7 went the full 2:30 due to the terrorist just camping some where...this is ridiculous and shouldn't happen. It ruins overall play flow to have people sit around for a possible 1-2 minutes doing nothing but watching. cutting out 30 seconds can really clean up the overall play in the server and reduce the last man camping ordeal that tends to happen on bigger servers like this.

1. 1000 reasons why 800 is better
Ok you caught me, im not actually gonna list 1000 reasons here(trust me im not THAT crazy) but i must ask the question, why did you change the standard default from 800 to 1000? some admin likes to troll with the zeus? (dont even get me started on the zeus btw) that extra 200$ doesnt seem like a lot but its actually the different between a full buy and an smg buy for the winning team. normally if you spend your 800 (which you should on pistol round) you'll have enough to buy an smg armor+helm and 1-2 grenades depending on total frags, with the extra 200 or even just simply a hard eco (saving the 1k) you can buy an awp round 2, or a rifle with light armor. this is just crazy and not normal in the meta of counter-strike. There is a reason why in every version of counter-strike the buy money for pistol round is 800$, and why mess with what has worked so well for many years?
4. No Anti Block
1. How many times can i die?
you have no idea how many times people just get one another killed in your server, in my toal 9ish hours as of writing this time played there, i can say roughly 15-25% of my total deaths are because of a teammate blocking me in or just not paying attention and getting us both killed. Guys this is a 32 man server were talking about, if you add anti block it will fix soooo many issues (round start the wall of afks wont matter anymore) This solves so many issues im surprised its not on here to be honest.

1. Wasn't there just an American election?
I thought you guys liked to vote?(Canadian btw) In all seriousness you need to enable voting, your admins aren't always going to be around to help out. all it takes is one asshat during the wee hours of the morning to kill the server. also say people want to change the map because they dislike the current one, letting people vote just makes sense and makes everyone in the server happier.
So those are my main 5 issues/suggestions to improve the server overall, i hope you take your time to read threw and consider each option. If anyone has anything they would like to discuss or for me to explain the reasoning behind id be more than happy to go into more detail (more detail? is this guy crazy?) hope to hear back and maybe one day see some of these suggestions implemented
