    CSGO Overwatch FAQ

    What is the Overwatch?

The Overwatch lets the CS:GO community regulate itself by allowing qualified and experienced members of the community (‘investigators‘) to review reports of disruptive behavior, determine whether those reports are valid, and apply temporary bans if appropriate.

Personally I really like this. Most of the Time players are the best people to ask whether a certain exploit (IE stacking, camping spawn, etc.) is exceptable or if it is bad sportsmanship. Not to mention most players can more effectively determine if someone is just plain good or is using something like aimbot.

I think it is good for disruptive players, ie: asshats. I do not think it is good if they allow the community to decide whether someone is hacking or not. Most players can not tell the difference between good players and hackers unless the hacker is blatant. I have seen a number of players that the majority thought hacked and had to change their opinions after watching them play at Lans.

It can be difficult to tell the difference between an elite player and a hacker, if the hacker is skilled at using his hacks and is careful to switch them off and on.

Plus if someone lets in one troll. It would be terrible.

It looks like it will be well-regulated with automated monitoring & comparisons of each decision. No decisions will be made "in real time".

Being an investigator looks like a tough job. It's not focused toward any particular server, and the best investigators get more cases to judge.

In my opinion, their process is overly complex. I expect they will fully implement it and then cut back to whichever features provide the biggest benefits.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
