Odd, I know there was a issue when it was created a while ago where you had to be invited. I'll check on that tonight.


And also remember.... if you have played with someone recently, you can easily add them to your friends list without knowing their steam id.

From Steam, click on FRIENDS to open your friends list. Click on ADD A NEW FRIEND or whatever that button is called.
Under the search field where you normally put in steam IDs, there is a link that says something like "View players you have recently played with". Click on there and voila!

Cause its the old fashion way of doing it... I remember when Steam Friends didn't exist. And the awful BETA too...
