Did anyone have problems getting custom maps??

Did any of you have problems downloading custom maps from our server itself, then connecting and playing that map ???

It works fine for me.

Just as a side note, I found that if I alt-tabbed out of the game while the map was downloading, the game would lock up and you have to ctrl+alt+del it.

i got them ok.

i have problems downloading new maps all the time anyway, it takes 3 tries to download it and can take up to 20 minutes to get a map at the most. but other than that i got them fine lol.

Is there any way we can create a map pack to drop into the folder in advance?
You know, a place to pre-load whats on the server via a link?

This would make load times smoother for me if this is even possible.
And we can direct people to that place who so wish then.

When you alt-tab out, and then open it back up and it is still loading, is the loading box off of the screen?

Sometimes that happens to me, and it seems like it has locked up, but it is actually loading something and you just can't see the little box.

Source games are a pain when it comes to alt+tab no matter what computer you have.

Maps are playing just fine for me too, I just have a question, are they supposed to be so silent? All the stock maps have the sound of wind or snow in the backgroud, but this maps just feel so empty.

That would be because the are beta maps and the mapper has not got around to or doesn't know how to add ambient sounds or wind functions.

I don't see anything at all. When I try to maximize the window again, the image of whatever was on my screen right before alt-tabbing back in gets stuck on the screen. Then if I check the task manager, it says that the game is Not Responding. I've tried waiting for a bit too, and nothing happens... so I just end the process and start it back up.
