if Halo3 is based off dx10, m$ has axed the xp pro ability for dx10 at this time, and is mandating to everyone that it will not be available for xp pro at this time. so i doubt an emulator will be available.

Exactly what I'm saying. Halo 2 is out, but Halo 3 will be only for xbox 360 when released. At least for a while.

I was pretty sure it said 3 on the box... I will have to look at it when I am over there next. I'm not a halo fan so I don't know a lot about it. So I could very well be wrong

i was referring to dx10 only games, such as crysis. i fully suspect that someone will find a way to defeat this, much as the folks did with Wine and directX. but, MS is being the stickler about it.

MS said they would not be doing anything DX10 related for xp pro/home. and said they would not allow it. the vista crack for XP is a great one though. i personally refuse to get vista until i absolutly have to. and if they can make this and other apps run on xp, i'm all for it. its the same spiel i gave when win98 vs xp came out(windows me doesn't count. its the bastard child of microsoft, and i don't think anyone truly embraced it, ever.) the eventual move will happen, but the longer i can hold off thanks to folks like those, the better.
