Hmmm interesting. I restarted the game and when I level up a bit I will probably get this. Now I'm installing UT3 in case this "patch" comes out. Seeing the Dry Ice map that Nomadicus made has put the UT bug in me.

Bah. Google's first few results were wrong about the perk. It had said that it added +1 to all 6 stats, which would have been amazing. Instead, it's a minor addition to 3 skills.

Unfortunately the UT3 patch or expansion or whatever is too little, WAY too late. It's a good game, but it didn't catch on.

Oh, regarding the DLC for Fallout 3: be aware that I experienced a lot of annoyance when trying to get to my saved games from the main game. Games for Windows puts saves in a different location pegged to your gamer ID, and it took awhile to find the right folder and location. I eventually had to start a new game just to search for the name to find where it put the things. Also, you need to wait for the message that says it's loading new content on the main menu before you can access those saves and the files.

I accidentally made a Live account one time while I was starting up Fallout 3. I was unable to play under my original player unless I logged out. With me second player I haven't had to do this so maybe it wont be so bad.

I'm confused- everything says Xbox 360 on it while I am creating this GFWL account....

it's because Xbox Live is more or less GFWL, they both pull from the same place. So, in order to avoid confusion from the xbox gamers they made most of the GFWL stuff with Xbox Live labels.

                  Okay guys-

                  VERY FRUSTRATED NOW

Complete answer please? there are only indirect comments so far at this point...

I make an GFWL account? YES OR NO
It says XBOX 360 - problem or not? YES OR NO
I buy points, and download Operation Anchorage content to my PC and it will work in my Fallout 3 game? YES OR NO
Will the fact that I bought my game thru steam be an issue? YES OR NO
Are there any specific folders I need to drop the content into or does the unwrapping of the content do this for me? YES OR NO

Sorry to be this way but several people have been asking the same questions in this thread over and over, and in PMs we have been trying to figure this out togeather.

                  Thanks in advance

GFWL account: yes. This is required.

Xbox360 all over the place: Doesn't matter. It looks very odd to us Windows geeks, but what you do is, after you sign up for the thing and get your points, you simply log out of the website. You get your update through the Games for Windows Live application on your pc (which is automatically installed for you with the first Fallout 3 patch). That application looks more familiar to us.

Buy points, DL Anchorage, Play-go? Yes

                    Content installation has brains? Yes.

MAKE SURE you wait in the main menu of the game for a few minutes until it says something about installing extra content (which it apparently does EVERY time you want to play Anchorage). The DLC is not accessible until that point.

Also, once it gets to that point, GFWL uses a new set of save locations. It's not easy to find, and I eventually had to start a new save to search for the name attached to it to find that location. That's where you're going to have to move your existing saves if you want to use them for the DLC, which is linked to your GFWL account.

You guys sure like doing things the hard way. To play Operation Anchorage or any other DLC offline first thing you have to do is find the DLC files.

The main .bsa, the sound .bsa and the .esm that are located in

                      Windows XP
                      C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC

                      Windows Vista
                      C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC

And move them to Fallout 3 Data folder

after that just start the Fallout 3 Launcher and go to Data Files

make sure the Anchorage files is checked and click OK.

Now you can play Operation Anchorage offline or in any other GFWL account even if they didn't purchase the DLC.

I don't know why Microsoft didn't do it like that to begin with. Remember to save those 3 files into a CD so you don't have to download the DLC everytime you reinstall Fallout 3.

I really enjoyed this addon for Fallout 3. The loot at the end is fantastic, although I had a fun bug where while I was picking up the loot, the people I had just helped killed the woman, and then turned on me, it was very strange, but using the new armor I got they didn't stand a chance

Aparently theres some kind of mutiny because those guys have been defending the base for a long time, and they don't like when some outsider finally opens the armory and starts taking everything.

All I did was kill them all and have the woman repair all my stuff.
