This sounds cool but what is happening to the other games like BF3 and BF Heroes?

BF Heroes is being re-released in Beta form in the next few weeks. Ultimate game release shortly thereafter.

BF3.........My guess is that this IS BF3.

I just watched the trailer. What is obvious is that they merged many of the original elements of BF2 with some of the cartoonish feel of BF Heroes. The BF Heroes elements are subtle, but can be seen in the new character styling and the planes and vehicles.

I can only hope that they pull off the balance between those two......because BF Heroes went too far in the wrong direction with the cartoonish feel vs. TF2 which did it perfectly. The key to this style of game is the realistic feel of the characters in my opinion.

I'd be happy with 1942, just updated with newer graphics and features, like squad based spawning. Modern warfare isn't for me, it's not even history yet. I can never get enough of the ww2 era, and ww1 era. Korean War, Vietnam war, those are eras I'll always want to play.

bf1943 man... i know people thing UT is the official Cains lair "awesomeness mascot" but battlefield is where its at for me with cains lair! i'm actualy rather excited about this.

I couldn't agree more Jeffro. BF2 is what brought me here and if I only had one game to play, that would be it.

Let's just hope it still has all of the squad based goodness of the others. CLR squads FTW

Apache, with support kit naturally, starts a squad and it fills in a nano second just to hear him yell at every turn as if we were REALLY in combat.....

Bar and Darth_Nevus running around slicing and dicing their way through everyone in their way.....

Looks like a download, probably from EA download manager. I am completely jazzed about this one. Plus it's due this summer so no 2 year developement (hopefully).

meh this actually look like a mod which it wouldnt take long to created. if i want a new game i expect to be new and not stuff that got converted from another game to make it seen like a new game. same thing with cod4toWaW.

if they were to make this a full release like BF2 or 2142, that would be nice, but i agree with ruthless, it just looks like a mod, though imo it is more like the difference between BF2 and BF2 SF

Looks like we have modern and World War II Battlefield games coming out, although it is funny that the PC is only getting the sequel to BF:BC.
I'm already anxious
