From what I can gather from the information available at the moment, DICE seems to be making this game to test new technology that they may be working on, and not as a full standalone game.

It does sound fun, but I still can't wait until BF: BC2 comes out.

With only 3 maps and lack of long term support this game should "dry out" quickly. It seems to be nothing more than a beta test that you can pay for to paticipate in.

I loved the original BF series, but seems like EA manages to kill every great game series out there. For Instance: Need for Speed.

The next thing I'm waiting for is Battlefield ONLINE, Battlefield Classic and Battlefield Future to be announced...

WhatI think would be interesting would be a WWI era battlefield.
And I agree about the realness of the battlefield games, which in my opinion makes the game great!

The whole realistic Battlefield and WWII theme is getting old for me.
