Evony

I can't seem to get a paste here for the web site but I've playing this game called Evony for the past couple days. It's a browser game that free to play. It kinda reminds me of Populous from way back in the day.

Basically it's an empire building game with resource management and city building at the core. You can join alliances with up to 99 other people and go to war with other alliances. I've been having a good time with it. Definately not action oriented. In fact it's not that far above text based but it is a hoot.

I'm trying it a little to see what its like. Vote is still out on it though. I have to admit for a web based it's not bad, I think I see how they plan on making their money.

its an ok game i play server 2.
found it the day after it was opened up for use.

you start with one town, you build up the buildings inside like the cottages for population academy for research barracks for soldiers and the center point of it all the town hall, all of this is surrounded by a wall which you build defences on. outside the city limits you build your produce things like sawmills, quarrys, farms and iron mines. you have to gain medals from battles to get promotions which allow you too have more towns.

all the buildings can be upgraded to lvl 9 makeing them produce things faster but after that you either need to be very lucky to win the item needed to get to level 10 or spend money to buy the item (which isnt recomended since the server owners dont guarantee the server backups and if you loose coins they are gone)

getting into an alliance is the only way to survive since there is no form of protection for players from those that have been playing longer on the specific server you are playing.

but all in all its a good game that passes 5 or 10 minuites during the day since you dont have to be on constantly to play(there are those that spend all day every day on it and they are the ones in the top rankings as per usual lol).
