Call of Duty: Black Ops Dedicated To Dedicated Servers

Has anyone caught this? Let it be to Kotaku to not post all of the original quote

Call of Duty: Black Ops Dedicated To Dedicated Servers - Call of duty: black ops - Kotaku

PC gamers who felt burned by the decision to drop dedicated server support for Modern Warfare 2 may have a friend in that other Call of Duty developer Treyarch. The developer all but confirms dedicated server multiplayer in Black Ops.

Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia tells CVG that dedicated servers are "excellent" and that the Call of Duty: Black Ops team is "excited about what we're doing right now."

If that doesn't quite sound like solid, undeniable confirmation to you, maybe this will make you feel a tad better. Lamia says that Treyarch is working to "reconcile" the needs of those who want to play on dedicated servers and those who want a more console-like multiplayer experience.

"We're working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they're all on first-party servers," he says.

    So... yay?

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be getting dedicated servers, according to studio head Mark Lamia.

When asked whether the popular feature would be present in Black Ops in the new issue of PC Zone, Lamia replied, "I think dedicated servers are excellent. I don't see any reason not to see them unless... well, I just don't see any reason not to."

"It seems people like them and we're excited about what we're doing right now."

Lamia showed his appreciation of how much dedicated servers meant to a lot of PC gamers:

"We do work very hard to reconcile the desire to manipulate and modify those dedicated servers with offering them the persistent experience and benefits that the console system provides."

"We're working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they're all on first-party servers."

I'm still a little iffy on this.

    1. Will it be like Dice and give us limited Dedicated servers?

2."participate in the communal experience the console players get to have" I take it will have a matchmaking? So far what everyone thinks? Promising or the hell with 'em

Using dedicated as a selling point for the next Call of Rehash, Activition reaches a new low.

I'm also done following the series, I only loved the Infinity Ward games, after seeing the new trailers I just know this is just going to be another World at War cept with more killstreaks.
