you guys check this out? any of you like the total war games? I always thought the first one one was a blast, and almost the most fun of any of the series. must admit that this one makes me quite excited!

i even downloaded their flash player so i could watch it.. i want this game badly!!!

some of the other videos, like the duels and assasins are pretty sweet. Im not much into controlling the naval battles, but those screens also look great. i hope the game play is as good as its appearence.

"SEGA announced today that a playable demo of Total War: Shogun 2, the sixth installment of The Creative Assembly's Total War strategy franchise, will be available on Steam on February 22, 2011. Players who pre-order at GameStop (online or in-store) will unlock and take part in The Historic Battle of Kawagoe. Set in 1545, the Battle of Kawagoe saw the H?j? clan launch a successful night time counter-attack against the besieging Uesugi, eschewing heavy armor and the collection of heads in favor of speed and stealth. Those who pre-order at Best Buy (in-store only) will unlock 1,000 Koku, the currency used in Total War: Shogun 2. Player?s campaigns will begin with 1,000 Koku, allowing them to purchase new buildings, train new units and upgrade their towns. Total War: Shogun 2 is due to launch on March 15th 2011."

yeah, took me about 45 minutes...

i like it, but boy, do i need a system upgrade. The game runs, and sems to run smooth, but all detail levels are low or off. this is the default setting it put on ther after checking my machines specs.

All of those screen shots and game play vids were most certainly on hot systems, not my old one. Anyway, still fun to play. would like to run it on a better rig to see what she is really made of.

wow,i wish i wasnt drooling so much. i must admit, this game doesnt live up to the hype. Now, i cant turn the settings up to the almost cinematic levels they have on pre release footage, but that shouldnt affect the AI.

This game has some horrible AI !! Some of the pre release footage had interviews about how they greatly improved it blah blah blah .

Anyway, the campaign map allows for some lame ass AI, the enemies leave their cities completely undefended, and only mass 1-2 major armies, keep them busy, and you can have a third army running around just taking territories.

The battle map AI is even worse. I had an army of 1000 ( 80% archers, 2 groups katana samurai) held off a force of two enemy generals totaling 2900+( give or take 100). Two turns later, he took all his cavalry units, dis mounted, and hiked them 1 at a time against ny castle, generals, ruling family generals and the daimyo himself,, all cut down by arrows in a horrible show of AI.

The game was already on sale on newegg for 39.99, 10$ less than release price already. get it if you must, just dont think it will be mind blowing.
