Tribes Ascend?

Anyone remember the first three tribes games, or even (the series it spun off of) Starsiege?

A dev studio is ramping up a beta for their new Tribes game.

Tribes was a spinoff of Starseige, if I recall.

And there have been a few attempts at recapturing the older feeling. I have yet to find one that would.

Earthsiege and earthsiege 2 were favorite games of mine. when I saw Starsiege come around back in the day I was like a kid in a candy store.

And I wasted too much college time on tribes and tribes 2.

They have said they want to recapture as much of the feel of the old games as possible. Even so far as to include every version of the Spinfusor (think a combo grenade launcher and a M1 Garande) from past games in this one, just different variants. Light, Medium and Heavy.

Over all the videos I have found remind me a LOT of Tribes 2.

I loooooved tribes.

I was a fan of dropping those turrets and stations around in a map. Probably why I just love playing the Engie class in TF2

I've been playing the beta as well, and its bloody amazing. Especially that they copied the gameplay verbatim. Between this and Minecraft I've been kept away from BF3 pretty good.
