I joined the rebels but haven't done any of the quests.

I've done the Imperials. Things it might influence could be the grey beard meeting you have with both sides. Pretty much all quest line decisions can and will influence that meeting but ultimately YOU pick who gets what and such.

Anyone gone through the Civil War quests yet? I'm too scared to try them until I've beat the game because I'm afraid they'll mess something up in the cities because of the faction choices.

I joined the Legion and "freed" Windhelm. You can still do all the sidequests if you have finished the questline with one faction as far as I know. I only encountered one bug. I did not get the archievement from Steam. Apart from that all plays out well.

Reminder to self: I really should work on the main quest...

I saw the graybeards and well they do help you with the voice thing.
The thing I haven't figured out is I have gotten other voices but can't unlock them with the dragon souls I have.

I'm still a noob at this game but I think you select shouts then click on the shouts you have found then type a key to unlock it, it may even be the "e" key. The message is a bit misleading when you double click on the shout.

On this topic, I have three souls saved up but only one shout chosen so far, I'm holding on to them until I find the perfect shout. So what are your favorite shouts?

I have only 3 which I unlocked. I tend to do side missions and find things. (I think I missed one or 2 already)
I have force(you get this upgraded with the graybeards), fire, and windwalk(upgraded from graybeards). I have one for being friendly to animals, invisibilty, and a couple more.. but can't unlock.. will try the e button.

I also forget to use it as the z button is so strange for the shout. Can you map your mouse to shout? This might change my use.
You will need the windwalk in specific areas. So go there and just talk to them. (watch out for ice trolls)

I programmed my N52 to use the same button that I use for talking in MP FPS games. If you don't use one of those i bet you could program a key on a gaming keyboard.

I don't have great offensive shouts yet. I've got 2 words of ice breath, just 1 of fire, and neither does enough damage compared to just smacking away with my enchanted blade to make them all that worthwhile. Plus, I've got the same issue as Golden in that I just forget it's on the Z key a lot.

Most of the words I've obtained from exploring are unlocked, but are largely utility words that I haven't played around with much. I've got the full phrase for throwing my voice, but it doesn't seem that useful on the surface.

Thanks for that info. I have now unlocked 8 shouts... won't do the stupid peacefull things... I mean in this game your not supposed to be peacefull.

On a side note, I maped the shout to my mouse and works very well. Using the one that freezes things into ice cubes and they fall down. If you hit them the ice breaks though.

I think I only have 1 word of this shout. Does it work against Dragur Overlords and the unnamed Dragon Priests? I'm level 52 and those guys are the level of undead I seem to get pretty often.

It's amusing that I can hit level 52 having only done 4 main quest missions.

Lvl 52. Rand has obviously finished enchanting/smithing/alchemy. Maybe completed 1hand/block/light or heavy armor and restoration. With a few points in sneak/speech and lockpick.

hmm should be able to freeze them. I know it worked on some of the higher end undead that I have faced. I just completed some mission for a 3 part amulet.
