I got Skyrim for christmas, so I wanted to get opinions on the best builds. I normally go for more of a stealthy class, but I enjoy warrior and mage classes as well. Discuss.

I have a High Elf and started out with the intent of doing more magic. I have built up my destruction and restoration fairly high but I have really enjoyed the Archery Skill and that will be the first one that I max out. I use a weakness to fire potion on my Bow of Flames and follow up with a fireball. I hope to get a similar set up with a lightening bow at some point in case I come across a foe that has resistance to flames.
Whatever you come up with will be fun so don't sweat the details at first, just go for it.

I am at 83 now, I go into a town and just buy everything possible. Over 75 you can't buy your skill upgrades as well.
Edit: I also make potions with ingredients that are unknown. This will wllaow me to learnd the unknown effects.

I'm holding back on those perks for now as I'm not sure how useful they will be as I go along. I think I may just focus on one of them then buy goods to make up for the rest. Most of my perks have gone to the Archery skill which is at 63.

Upgrading potions does actually help alot with the quailty(and selling it back). As well as enchanting. Getting the 2nd enchanting is very good. I would recommand doing the black soul gem star quest as well. This way you can enchant with human souls.
There is a list of potions and ingredients as well as an app.
I would buy as many of the upgrades for alchemy as you can each level. Because its a bitch to skill up. something like every 40-50 potions gets you a level in alchemy.
Personally I don't know what I would do without the selling to everyone perk in speech. I would sell everything to the potion lady and when she ran out of money train, rinse and repeat.
I just don't know how to get it to 100 to sell black market goodies... they are lying on the floor of one of my houses.

You can train above 75, but ONLY with the master-level trainer, so you have to find this one and only person for alchemy (or whatever skill) and train with them. In terms of increasing skill, the potions with the highest values give you the most return on training, so you want to have a full set of enchanted gear that will fortify alchemy and go for rare ingredients and potions. Try Giants Toes and Wheat together...
I'm a one-handed, heavy armor, sneaking/archery fool. It's great, I can do everything I want in one build, supplemented by largely fire-based destruction spells. I use muffle and sneak around dungeons and forts in full Daedric gear, and get the backstab and sneak bonuses.
I'm one perk away from maxing the best alchemy skills, and have maxed enchantment and smithing, so I can make good stuff all around. I need to focus on getting the extra pockets stuff via sneak, and maybe some other skills like in speech.
One thing to keep in mind about potions--they're fearsomely heavy when you start lugging a bunch around. At half a pound each, they really add up. I've started to ditch many potions when I can sell them just to help save on carry space.
You don't need Black Star to enchant or capture human souls. Simply use Black Soul Gems.

The alchemy trainer is in the 2nd town most people go to. So that was an easy find. I haven't found any alchemy uprgrading items to disenchant.
I noticed I had no reason to up my armor skill really since I am doing only mage stuff, but I did it
I don't find much problems now I only wear glass hand and feet coverings(they don't weight much more then the basic item and at least have some armor.
The best enhancement for the feet is to carry an extra 50 pounds of gear.

There are at least 3 trainers for each skill. The one in Whiterun can't train you very far. There's a master trainer for each skill that can get you to 100 if you have the gold.
I've got a carry capacity of 447 right now with enchants for fortify carry weight, and heavy armor perks to reduce weight of heavy armor when worn.

hmm will have to look for the person to get to 100 then. I know where the other 75 is... to the wiki file ...
I think I have only put 1 or 2 levels in stamina, mainly my gear is for lockpicking, magic regen and dest. magic

Ah, masters only go to 90. Still, that's better than 75.
I don't have anything on fortify stamina.

I got sick of having to cast spells to get a soul so I now just go with an enchanted knife to steal it.
Is there any difference from a mages soul to a common bandit?

There is no fortify enchantment skill from what I can tell. We're not able to use it on anything. What you need to do instead is max out your alchemy and create fortify enchantment potions.
