Skyrim question

So I purchased some of the DLC (Hearthfire and Dawnguard). Is there something that is supposed to prompt me with 'whats new'? I loaded my game after installing the DLC and dont notice anything different.

Do i need to start a new game?

No, you won't need to start a new game, but I do not remember the exact specifics. Just look for the Skyrim wikis and see how they trigger.

...with dawnguard. Someone will approach you about the dawnguard is recruiting when you are around any of the 7 holds, fast travel to one and someone will approach to you like the courier. In Heartfire, a courier will approach you about some land being on sale.
