I'm not looking for a total spoiler but I wanted to know if there was some way of communicating with the ghouls here. The clues in the tapes obviously tell the tale of a guy who turned into one and there was a flashback scene when the first glowing ghoul jumped out so it seems like there is more to the story. After I cleaned out the building I remembered that I had a Ghoul mask from completing the Tenpenny tower quest, which allows you to talk to them. Would it be a waste of time for me to go back to an earlier saved game and use the mask? BTW I did get the bobble head doll there.

I searched the heck out of that area and couldn't find anyhing. I saw that quick flash also but I think it's just supposed to be one those sad moments. There's flashes like that in one of the vaults too where you see your dad walking around.

This my be old news or no news but I read were the ghouls were Chinese agents that were abandon in the US right before the bombs fell. Why they were placed in the US and what their mission was is not exactly known but what you guy's have stumbled upon my have something to do with it all that.

Now this is just a thought.

Nope...you eventually find a hidden bomb shelter that has these guys in it. Well, their skeletons at least. Kinda like when you pick up radio frequencies and all you find are bodies in them with some items. But it was funny none the less.

About the mask allowing you to talk to ghouls such as Feral and The Glowing One. Not true. I'm playing the game myself for a second time and tried it out but no chat. Just allowed me to walk freely, if you will around them.

The Chinese-descended Ghouls aren't in the Dunwich, but rather somewhere off to the east of there, a factory of some sort if I recall correctly. Maybe the red racer factory.

When I wore the mask I had the option of talking them but none of thme answered. That's what got me thinking there was more to it. I love all theses side quests.

I ran into a building full of Chinese ghouls last night .. IIRC it was near Arlington Cemetery ... geez, I can't remember the name of it, but it was Mama's sumthin or other ... *headslap*

As far as what the soldiers say, turn the subtitles on. They say something like "death to the capitalist pigs" and other various Communist slogans.

Yeah, that's it. The Italian food factory that feels suspiciously like it was a mob front back in 2077 before the bombs hit.
