I'm not a particular fan of Boone right now, because I've got 100 sneak and I like finding sniping perches or snooping around. Next thing I know--BOOM, headshot! The guy can't stop ruining my approaches.

I actually find Ed-e to be the more annoying 1. Whenever I start creeping up on a hostile he sounds off that damn music and they come running

Yeah, totally annoying but when you CHARGE in with NOTHING on but your undies and a Super Sledge, it's nice to hear theme music.

Yep. Doesn't make a difference. I think follower AI is one of the little bugs in the system they need to fix.
