I had played this in beta a ways back, and it wasn't ready for me to pay for it, however they've touched up alot of things. For space combat, it satisfies what I've wanted to do for a long time - duke it out with various aliens with phasers blazing.
Free to play is rather fun, not really needing the perks I see in subscription, and I did my share and bought some credits to get a better ship (and some later) than what they give you in the regular progression. The effects and graphics for battles are quite enjoyable and you do not see lag in any actions taken.
What do you guys think? You don't have to be a "trekkie" to like Star Trek, so would you give this a try?
