    Noob looking for help

    I never really played TF2 when it first came out. So I'm trying to get started with it. Is there a tutorial anywhere? I have played HL2 a lot, and use to play counter strike, but none of the other games. How does the game calculate score? For instance, here's an example. I don't really know if I did good or bad from the round.... my name is ryanb in game...

    Your score looks pretty good to me, ryan!

    There are a lot of folks here who have had the game since it first came out (including myself) but are just now learning to love it.

      Oh, Ryan, if you want to see a TF2 noob look at me! I've gone from being a gold, silver or bronze player in COD4 to middle of the pack at best...pretty much afraid to do anything but snipe because about all I understand is shooting...and I don't want to wreck the strategy.

        Score seems to be really arbitrary in this game as it's more about helping your team win than anything...

        This link breaks down the points system and which actions give what number of associated points:

        Points - TF2 Wiki
        * Tuqui-tuqui hugs bliss
        <Tuqui> hmm .... nice and soft
        <bliss> ...
        * bliss` takes off his bunny suit

          Score can be an indicator that you did well individually, but it doesn't tell you anything about how much you contributed to your team. For example, a pyro that is hanging back and spychecking for an engineer on his team probably isn't going to have as many points or kills as a pyro that is at the front lines. But I guarantee the pyro that hanged back with the engineer may have helped the team out more by protecting the engineer's equipment and defending that control point.
          Ahhh...the power of cheese!

            Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
