So I was just wondering...is there a certain way to do things as a Spy?? Everytime I have tried the class I can't seem to ever lay any Sapps or stab anyone when cloaked. I click the mouse over and over but nothing happens...same when trying to sap...I get the white outline, click the mouse, and nothing???

are you trying to do things while cloaked? because you have to uncloak to do anything.

im not that good with spy at all but i know these things so far.
gotta uncloak too do stuff.
sentrys dont fire at you when you are desguised.
when you are moveing the cloak and dagger item makes you just as visable as if you didnt have it on.
the origional invisi watch can keep you invisable for a full round if you pickup supplies often enough.
stay away from pyros but dont look like you are trying too stay away from pyros.

Don't run from your sides area to the other teams area in disguise. I have killed numerous spies because of this. How many of your engineers are going to be running towards the front lines from the enemies positions?

I don't play Spy, but I have some 'clan' friends that do.

They say one of the main things to ignore is your disguise. A good spy doesn't really need a disguise. They should be able to position themselves correctly with their cloak, take out enemies, then retreat before striking again. In professional play, taking out two guys as a spy when there are only 6 members on a team, and respawn times are sometimes 10-seconds plus is a major 'credit-to-team'.

So relying more on your cloak, and less on your disguise is something to keep in mind. Also, if there are enemies around your spawn doors, try disguising as a friendly-team mate before cloaking. This will allow you to sneak by them without them suspecting you're a spy.

This is only the case when your cloak meter is empty. The cloak meter drains faster with the cloak and dagger than it does with the regular watch but it recharges when you aren't moving. So, you can't travel as far without having to stand still for a bit.

Alright spy is simple, cloak sneak behind, STAB STAB STAB!, then run behind YOUR LINES!!! that way you dont die as much. many other tricks as well but i dont want to give away my secretes.

Spy used to be so much better than it is now. Less noise upon decloak, better stab animation and side stab availability, etc.

Now I go up and backstab someone, hear the noise, and nothing happens 1/2 the time.

The original animation stank, then they made a new one which owned, now it's slightly modified again to mess with your vision slightly and delays multi-stabs a fraction of a second.

So, boo on spy!

I messed with spy for a little while. Basic spy is not too hard. Cloak, disguise, run behind enemy, uncloak, stab, cloak, run, hide, repeat. What makes a good spy (IMO) is being able to sap an enemy engy's stuff, then backstab him before he can do anything about it.

Actually the key is to stab then sap... just have to work on your press 2 skills.
