TF2 Engineer Jumps?

OK people, I've not played engy much, but I've watched some of the engineer tricks and jumps on Youtube. I can't seem to mimic the jumps that look WAY too easy from other players. I.E. jumping up in weird places, ... Granted, some of these video's are a little long in the tooth now.

Is it just practice to do the partial crouch/ jump/ move forward thing on top of your equipment to get to protected areas, or have they blocked alot of those "Special" places on further patches?

If its just practice, I can do that on an empty server.

Goldrush comes to mind on Red team, where the balcony is on the left side.

Hate to be just a teleporter guy. Funny last night, had sentry, teleporter, etc, all in a tunnel. Spy kills me from behind, saps all my equipment, and scoots away, with 3 teammates just watching. lol

Most are still available. The jump + crouch isn't too bad to get down. just drop your dispenser and act like you're going to jump forward onto it. Hit crouch in midair.

As you said, the best place to practice is an empty server. That allows you time to get the jumping from dispenser to ledge down(in the case of goldrush). That part usually takes some practice

its called an engi jump but its useful for all class's, its how you can get on top of weird things like rocks without demo/sticky just and for engi's it lets you get to special spots.

Many of the engi spots still exist d&g just some of them you dont actualy jump to you jump and drop a teleport exit then tele to that spot. Most engi jumps become easy with pratice and little tricks for each you will learn along the way.

FINALLY was able to put an Exit Teleport up on Goldrush last night in one of the special Engy places. YAYYYY..

And Clicked to demolish my dispenser, got carried away, and Destroyed my Exit teleport by mistake.

Since we put up NO defense on first part of the map, by the time i got a second teleport up there, here came Mr. Rocket man, and Rocket to my face.. lol
