It seems like for the past few days I will end the day with about 15,800 point in hlx only to log in the next day and have less than 15k points. Today I'm looking at my profile and it says I have 13,506. What's up with that? Besides playing 24/7 how do I prevent that, if at all?

Why do I lose points in hlxstats?

Don't die.
You see the message of so and so points someone gets when they kill you? Those come out of YOUR total.
If you're just talking about in between matches, every score system I've ever seen has some lag time between the event and the recording of the event from time to time. Just have to deal with it.

Yeah when you logged off it probably wasn't real time.
Don't get me started on how much I hate hlxstats...they claim to be real time, aren't that great on big servers, fails a lot for no reason, and have a horrible point calculating system in general. Personally, I disable mine

When I disconnect from the server it had showed me I had over 15k points. Then I get back on the next day have have fewer...so it's not from dying (although I didn't know that came out of my total...so thanks for that tidbit!)...I guess it's just from not really being updated to hlx or whatever keeps track.Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds

The fact that they dont get a set amount of points for a kill drives me nuts. I will kill someone with 15k points and get 3 points, but then some lucky spammer kills me while they only have 1,000 points and they get 47 of MY points. Unfortunately rank on the server is like crack to me and I play so that I can catch up with some of the people i play with

This touches on why I personally HATE stats. There are two reasons really, one of which being COD4 and WaW--in a game with online achivements, I feel a compulsion to get them all. It's annoying, and really time consuming.
The other reason is that stats negatively impact teamwork far too often. Too many people are concerned with their own standing, accuracy, self-set goals, etc at the expense of the overall team.
I think this is a big reason why we don't see many medics in the server since HLX went up. They don't seem to earn HLX stats very easily even though they're the most useful class for the team effort, so people don't play them. Others, like me, know our strengths and weaknesses with classes and may not play medic much because we're awful, but I think stats are the bulk of this.
You know the time I loved BF2 the most? When stats were turned off. Teamwork improved by an incredible degree almost overnight.

the 'used to' part comes from last week when i was the only medic for over an hour. Our team, with 4 pyros, wouldn't spycheck. Its just not worth the frustration to play a support class when you don't get any help from the team. Needless to say i kept ending up with a back full of holesDelivering bacon goodness one round at a time.

For my part, I rather like it when the other side displays an appalling lack of teamwork. Means I don't get rockets, grenades, pickaxes or flames in the face, or knives in the back.

The Stats are realtime, but the awards are calculated once daily.
HLX stats are there for a 4th dimension to the game really.
If you want to get to the top of the HLX board, you only have to be engineer for 4 weeks and play a few hours a day.
I use the stats a barometer for how well I am playing overall, not as a ranking. If I am not getting the pts per life as a Scout I expect, for example, then I need to adjust the way I play or watch who is successful to see if I can play like them.
