At the end of the day all you need to end up with is either 3 refined metal which gives you a random hat. Or 4 refined metal and a class token which will give you a class specific hat.


I'm currently on 2 refined metals 2 reclaimed metals and 1 scrap metal. Not long to go now.

The only one that can be found iirc is the Ghastly Ghibus or whatever is it.

I think you obtain it by killing somebody that is currently wearing one.

When i started TF2 one of the first item drops i got was that hat. I had no idea how or why i got it but decided to wear it anyway.

You can find hats but its incredibly rare. You can also craft them. It takes 112 weapons to make a hat that you chose the class for if my math is right.

find them or craft them. i think in the future you might be able to trade them.

or, some servers just run a hat mod that allows you to wear anything you want.

I have found the fancy fedora, camera beard and fireman helmet in the entire time hats have been available.

im 1 refined metal away from makeing my first hat (pyro hats FTW)

you can find hats ingame but its only like 3% chance every 4 hours of play time where as you get a weapon every 25 mins (rough numbers not exact)

hats dont have any bonuses at all though. they are just for show.
