So what custom models do people run?

I'm curious, since I've seen a lot of interesting weapon models, player models, even a 'nude women' model pack that I'm sure some of the 'dirty old men' play with. I've been scouting around to see what's out there, and what better way than ask people, right?

Personally, my only custom models are sprays.

After reading this I would suggest that you reinstall TF2 to remedy your crash problems. Likely, something you have deployed is not helping your client stay stable.

If you re-read, you'll note, I've seen a lot of interesting custom things, but don't use them myself. The only customizations I run are sprays EDIT: and a few scripts. FPSBanana has plenty of screen shots to see what others could be using. (I have set up non-wait-using right-click axtinguishing, while also allowing shift-right-click air-blasting, I put jump on F11 and space does a jumping crouch, etc.)

      To alleviate the threadjack...
Regarding my crash problems (located in another thread), I've tried deleting my profile folder, verifying cache, even reinstalling Steam and redownloading ALL game content (several Gb's). The problem persists through all, and I know its coming when sentries produce a loud high-pitched whine (comes about 5 seconds before crash). It crashes even on a COMPLETELY STOCK (not even sprays or scripts put in) tf2 install.

I had a similar issue, tf2 would crash even on fresh game reinstall, that was resolved by putting some command line switches on my desktop shortcut for tf2.

In the target line change it to have:
        -applaunch 440 -novid -windowed -noborder

              Vanilla.

Custom Models seems like BS if you were able to do something like bright skins and all the other stuff you could customize in UT to give you the tiny advantage... which I did!

Actually that wasnt a threadjack- it was a simple suggestion.
Seriously, how in the hell did you get admin status of anything?
You have three threads going that are all related to the same thing and then you get mad when someone makes a point that a fresh install could alleviate your crashes, especially if you happen to have tried out one of the mods you are talking about? Even if you dont actively use them now, if you ever installed one, you could have gaps in the command lines that cause you to CTD.

I dont know why I even bothered.
                I hope you BSOD

That was rather cruel... I wasn't mad in the slightest.

My other thread was my question about crashing, and it seems to be something to do with the latest patch. I'm not the only one experiencing it, and more and more people with the same series graphics cards are having a similar issue. Perhaps the next patch or graphics driver update will correct it. Since the crash occurs on a freshly installed steam, with pure vanilla tf2, I know it is not model related. I enumerated what I had tried here to politely save you a bit of trouble thinking of ways to assist me. I submitted my bug report to valve, and can still play, with the crash issue, while waiting for a fix.

The couple of threads here are only related in that they are attempts at striking up conversation about TF2, rather than having all of the conversation in the non-game forums.

As per why you tried to bother, I can answer that. You were trying to be helpful, even though you didn't have -quite- all the information, which is appreciated nonetheless. I do hope you continue offering help to others, as many aren't as well versed in computers, and do need help.

Regarding BSOD's, I hope you remain free of them.

Funny side note, around the time of your post yesterday, my linux shell experienced a kernel oops, and required a restart.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
