    Freezing? Anyone.

    Hi again.

While playing the whole game freezes for 1-2 seconds which makes it impossible to play even at the lowest setting....

    Vista32Bit
    Geforce 8800GTS640 @169.12 Beta
    AMD X2 4200+
    3 GB DDR400

Crysis runs like a charm compared to this.

I thought the UT3 GUI was bad, but seeing the game engine running like this...

Also, the game settings aren't saved when I exit the app, maybe I have to buy an addon for this advanced feature?

No problems whatsoever here. Have you tried the usual? Stopping any background scanning apps, defrag, spyware check, different Nvidia drivers?

You have to hit apply when you change your graphics settings.

We both have similar setups Grisu, the only major difference is Vista where as i run XP.

May be of some use to you.

Hmmm... I cannot offer you a direct solution, but I do recal seeing something on the epic UT3 forums about people with vista having problems with it saving settings (some kind of permission problem?)

I think they may have found a solution.... so try a quick search over there

I don't know what to say abotu your other problem though.

I've had the same problem in the past. Dunno what causes it. But I also have a problem Cain said he doesn't have, that that is a good, solid 30-45 seconds of unplayable lag at the start of every map.

Just installed the beta 1.01 patch. And guess what. The lag got even worse and the ini files still don't save (its stated in the readme that they fixed that!).

Rand, don't blame yourself. I have spent the last hours digging the forums for a solve.

People with quite different systems are facing these issues XP/Vista, AMD, Intel / Nvidia / ATI.... the engine doesn't care....

It is a beta patch remember. Maybe the ini problem will be fixed on the full release.

Here's another thread you might want to keep your eye on.

No freezes but crash to desktop three sessions in a row. Does not happen offline (so far).

I've got beta patch installed and still get freezes. Usually it's on the first round I play. I have to Reboot and then it'll work fine all night.

Make sure you all update your aegia physics software driver.
That helped a bit for me. -> PhysX_7.11.13_SystemSoftware.exe

Not for me. I still flicker after some time played, an hour or more.

Problem still there. Visible after longer gameplay...

Just found out that when I disable Cool and Quiet, UT3 runs a lot smoother.
