The only way I've gotten around this mess is by utilizing Setpoint but will only help folks with the later Logitech mice. I'm using a G5 for now and have successfully bound all the buttons using Setpoint and either default game binds or just a few alterations to make the binds identical to 2k4.

I'm not really sure what the issue is about. I've got a G5, and was able to bind the mouse 4 button with no problems. Course, I have it bound to Shock Rifle, which appears far less useful now than it was in UT2k4, but that's a gameplay issue, not a binding error.

Does your G5 have one or two thumb buttons? I think the newer ones have two but some others have only one. What happens with mine is that UT3 recognises both thumb buttons as number 4.

Ah. I've got the older one. I WISH I had the newer one, because it would be more like my old MX 510.

Ditto Rand....my mx510 was a much better overall mouse. I also have the single thumb button.

Duke, the issue you are having I also had and it's a Setpoint problem. First, go to logitech and get the latest version. Second, when setting it up, make sure on the button assignment section that the default (says "All other programs") make sure you change the buttons to Unassigned. Then make sure you have both UT2004 and UT3 added as programs. Then you should be able to assign the buttons the way you want. Occasionally, setpoint seems to "forget" key assignments and I have to put them back in but once I installed the latest version it hasn't happened. I can play both UT2k4 and UT3 with my custom binds and have no issues.

I haven't been running setpoint up until now when I get home I will try it out.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
