Friends Anyone?
The question I ask is this- How many of you like playing on your servers? That is, the Cains Lair servers. I cannot speak for you, but I can say that whenever I go to another battlefield, it's just not the same.
Have you been to that server that:
Makes you squat the entire time?
Has an 'ironsightsnomartynouavnodogs' rule?
Has an admin that is barking at you from the console saying 'no speaking unless you have permission, dont throw nades in the first 30 seconds unless you touch the tank with a hand then fire a shot to hit the windmill' rules?
Has a bunch of jerks who like to use foul language laced insults during and after every match?
Has an aimbot night?
Has no personality, community, no friends, and no fun?
I've been there time and time again- which is why I am here every day. It's also why I became an admin and why I deliver the news for you here.
For those of you who didnt know me before, or possibly cant remember, I was a Cains Lair regular who came on during the beginnings of CoD4. I'm famous for my play on words to tease people who taunted players by calling them "hackers". So in a sense, I wasn't your typical Admin candidate.
Because I love our community so much, I gave up the "tom-foolery" (as Apache likes to say when referring to nonsense who I also hear does the jitter-bug at his anniversary party every year and talks about the good ole days of carrier pidgeons too). I didnt want it, but I also liked promoting the community, so I had to make a sacrifice and stop yelling out
"Who is a hacker? Oh yeah? Well my Mom Hacks, and my wife hacks every chance she can get"
"Hacktastic!"
"I hear that Drisel is from Hack-en-sack"
"Everytime I die, there is smoke involved. Hack!"
and on and on.
True I miss the funny smart-mouth moments, but now I miss the hysteria of fun we have in all of our games.
So-- here is what I am proposing:
#1 Get your Hats on and start inviting people to play with you.
#2 Introduce yourself whenever there is a join in our server.
#3 Add people to your friends list- even if you dont know them! Look for people that say Nice Shot or laugh when you guys do the 3 minute knife-nade-pistol tango until you both die at the same time from a nade and laugh
#4 Get your opinions into the forums- there is no way we can improve the game until you get in there and help us figure out what will work for the fun.
#5 Have fun.
I wish I had more time to play right now- but I am renovating a house that we are moving into in two weeks, so we are down to crunch time. I will see you all in there when I can.
Play hard.
Play fair.
Play fun.
Play with friends.
