    New additions...

    Hi all!

First off let me say its good to see you all!

So you may have seen these already but let me just give you all a quick run down.

    How they show on posts

A few weeks ago we added 'Reactions' to posts.
These use the most common single emote posts icons.

They allow you to easily give a response to a post

Your own posts will show up like so...

Obviously you can not react to yourself!

Posts you have reacted to will show up as so

Your reaction is on the bottom, the most common reaction is at the top.

    How to react

When you click the bottom icon
You will get a selection of all the current smilies we have set as a reaction

Click the radio button next to the reaction you want.

    Click on "React Now!"

This will log your reaction and update the post.

You can also react by clicking on the "Top 6 forum wide" reactions to the left of the

Once you do one of those the post will update and show you what you reacted with and the current top reaction

Hovering over the top reaction icon or the top reaction will show you either of these.
All reactions to the post or that it has none.

Hopefully this post will give you some insight into the changes.

    Enjoy!

    Oh one last thing...
You only get one chance to react!

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!

Thanks for the extra work! Eventually, I'll use it.

Just FYI, the "new posts" section was solidly reliable for years. Now, it seems off-kilter. It seems like not all new messages are consistently displayed. I've totally switched to using "activity stream" instead.

Welcome, new other things on the way!!!

It obviously does not have a use for every post, but it has its place!

Thanks, its possibly caused by the 'read marking' of the thread when you view a reaction.
I'll have a look at it, I tend to use the 24hrs one, so i've not noticed it, but will have a look.
I've turned off the 'update read marker' for now, let me know if it goes back to normal.
Side effect is you cant clear the reactions from the list for now...

I will have a look for a more perm way to do that, it was just a quick temp fix.

I done some more work on it just there, I've re-enabled thread marking for now as well.
Results between the old and new pages appear to be the same now.

Have a bash, let me know!

Possible the change I did to put it in got reset when i applied a security fix from the creators.

If you use it to hide the welcome text, you can use the new posts and posts in last 24hrs links at the top.

                      Can thank DARK4SE for those!

I copied them over from the old phpbb board years ago.
Never had to add any new ones, everything seems to be there!

                      Even this one

Yep, that is because Dark4se would add new emoticons when someone asked for specific styles. We now have had one of the best emoticon libraries of any forum for many years.
