That list is incomplete without Enemy Territory. Even as dated as it was, its probably the one game that I played more than any other game, save Quake, the granddaddy of the first person shooter genre.
I actually never quit playing, but when I upgraded to a dual core CPU it caused me all kinds of laggy/hitchy issues playing the game.Oh if a man tried to take his time on Earth and prove before he died what one man's life could be worth, well I wonder what would happen to this world ? - Harry Chapin

Quake is generally regarded as the game that started us buying 3D cards for our PCs, so I was incorrect in calling it the original FPS.

Wolfenstein 3D preceded it, but it was not 3D, it was a 2D character with sprite mapping applied. You NEVER saw the back of another character.
Doom was the start of multiplayer action, so that also paved the way for our online FPS games today.Oh if a man tried to take his time on Earth and prove before he died what one man's life could be worth, well I wonder what would happen to this world ? - Harry Chapin

Hammy
Quake Wars : Enemy Territory?
If that is what you mean, that game sucks in my opinion. I enjoyed playing it for a bit, but overall- they blew it.

Hammy, you are confusicated. There is an original game titled Enemy Territory, and its sequel was named Quake Wars:ET.
The original was a free MP only game released by Splash Damage that we played on the Lair a while back. It was by far the game that I truly did well at, and if I was on your team, you stood a good chance of winning, as opposed to damn near every other game that we've played on the Lair where I was just cannon fodder.
I still get an itch to play it every so often and reconnect with those hardcore clan players that still play it today.Oh if a man tried to take his time on Earth and prove before he died what one man's life could be worth, well I wonder what would happen to this world ? - Harry Chapin
