In what might very well be the most unimaginative username ever...
I grew up playing the SNES and a friend's Genesis. I loved playing the Sonic games and always opted to pick Tails in Sonic 2 & 3. Over time, Tails sort of got labeled as my favorite video game character. Guess I was fascinated by the two-tailed flying fox.
When I got into online gaming, I was just going to use 'Tails' for a username, though it was taken. So, I added "Kitsune" (Japanese for 'fox') to the end. Plus, Tails is sometimes called kitsune-chan in some of original, Japanese dialogue, so that sort of sparked the idea, as well. Tails + Kitsune = Tails_Kitsune
Creativity at it's best...not.

I was in a Northrop/Grumman recreational paintball club back in the mid 90's. I showed up for a 3 man speedball tournament practice wearing a chartruse/black tiger stripe ball cap. I stood out as an obvious target on the field. We wanted to come up with uniform shirts with nicknames printed on them. My buddy "Buddah" called me the Madhatter so we put that on my shirt. During the tournament we came down to a final tie breaker between us "The Grumman Section 8" team and an outfit called "Blitzkrieg" from Houston, TX. My 2 team mates got taken out while taking out only one of theirs. It was 2 to 1. I figured I was a lame duck so I stood straight up while aiming between the two of them. They poped up at almost the same time and I nailed them "bang bang". It was the most awesome shots I ever made. The name stuck. I've been using it as a handle ever since.

This one is fairly new, the first one I had that had lulz to it was Nacho Nazi but Teamkillerz came around 4 months ago when I threw a grenade in COD4 and it hit a window frame, killed a friend in last stand by hitting him and blowing up in my guy's face.
P.S. The Nazi part of my old username is meaning towards no offense towards Semites since I used it to describe me as a fanatic of Nacho's
I used to run a few very popular websites for a PC MMORPG, the code name for the project was "Dark Siren", which as an Instant Messaging server and client... I'll spare the details.
I changed games, and my usual online name was taken, so I started thinking, I'd not long put the IM project to rest, and the name was fresh in my mind, so I ended up making up Sirex.
I came to Sirex from my IRC names.
which ended in nex usually,
So i ended up with Sir and ex making Sirex (sigh-rex).
Only issue with Sirex is, people in mmorpgs think ouy ment sir ex not si rex
I've used it for years now, once you hit a certain age I've noticed this the name you use tends to stick with you forever, at least from what i've seen.
I use Sirex and SirexToo (usually the Too one is NEVER taken hehe).
Well, I finally made my back to the lair! I hope fortune has blessed everyone this new year! I've got some updates, dad (Todd98 )is over 60....yall send...
