Can't get to Cain's lair??

So... I tried to get to the Cain's Lair page (http://www.cainslair.org) but firefox just says "Server not found". I pinged cainslair.org and had a response.

Pinging cainslair.org [63.113.60.3] with 32 bytes of data:

So I pointed firefox to http://63.113.60.3 and the page loaded (obviously because I am posting this )

Have there been any changes to the server? ... oh wait it's back up....

had the same problem about 3 hrs ago, then i switched to FF (i was using IE7 cuz am @ school), and it worked... i thought it was probably the school web-filter but then i saw this... but doesnt matter any more.

I was using Firefox 2.0.0.20 at the time. I was connecting from School... so I'm not sure which DNS server I was using for the lookup...

This exact thing happened to me..

At school they are still using FF2, and I tried to connect earlier and got the same error. A few hours later, I tried again on the same computer with FF2 and it worked.

There is a break in the DNS system somewhere.
Those things are beyond our control.

Yeah it's out of our or your control. My guess is that your school is running a caching DNS server and it's cache got borked

I have my router pointed to OpenDNS and it reported the outage for the past hour, but just now its back again.



Did we pay our monthly bill ?
