I tried this a long while back. I couldn't get it to work really although I was using terminal services based clients. I found it was much easier to use a streaming server. I use the Logitech Squeezebox series of hardware/software to do this in house. That can be a little pricey. There are other options. Check out subsonic. Very cool java streaming server runs on linux, OSX and Windows. Its open source i.e free

I do use RDP everyday I just don't have need for audio. Just outta curiosity why are you using RDP when you could just use a web browser?

what do you mean by I could just use a web browser? I like it since I am in Computer Repair at York County School of Technology and I am taking some Adult Education classes in Computer Networking and I don't want to carry any books with me to that class. So I just want to write down all the information on my computer at home while I am in the class. Also my family travels a lot and I got tired of Logmein free since i cant transfer files from one computer to another.

I think Mapes means that you can access and stream the files with a web browser. Like you would on the internet.

I've seen some folks be able to do it I think...can't remember. Honestly and easier approach is to use this

                  Subsonic Free Music Streamer

On Windows, the easiest way to install Subsonic is using the provided Windows Installer: subsonic-x.x-setup.exe.
It installs Subsonic as a service, available in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, that is started automatically when you log on to Windows.
It also creates links in the Start Menu: Start > All Programs > Subsonic. From this menu you can start/stop the Subsonic service, open the Subsonic web page, or change basic settings such as which port number Subsonic should use. You can also click on the little yellow submarine tray icon.
If you're upgrading an existing Subsonic installation, you don't have to uninstall the old version first. In any case, the existing Subsonic settings are preserved. After installing and starting Subsonic, open the Subsonic web page on http://localhost.
So you would install it on one machine. The one with your music files on it. Then login into the web page and configure it how you want. On the other machine open a web browser to the subsonic machine. Select some music and press play....it works just as if you were streaming music from the internet.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
