    yeap....
    another problem with my system

i tried installing the latest driver, its the same thing

I assume we're talking about a USB keyboard here....so have you tried another USB port?

Have you added additional hardware or software right before the problem began that you can remove to test for causes?

    Malware scans up to date?

Try unplugging all USB devices but the keyboard and see if it works then?

the keyboard works if i just replug it
      ive tried other usb ports
and this problem occurs after a fresh install of windows 7, so im positive there is no malware
i didnt have this problem with win XP earlier

If the problem shows up when you try to log-in, then it seems like a Windows driver problem (or a BIOS problem that shows up when the Windows driver loads).

Right now, you are using this Logitech drive version?
        Software Version: 3.04

Does the keyboard function without the Logitech driver (uninstalled to use just the Win7 default driver)?

No more ideas from me, but I want to summarize this for any experts to help. Also, please confirm last two items in list.

keyboard (logitech G11) works in BIOS, but when i get to to the log on screen it does not work, must unplug & replug

            - This began after reinstall of Windows 7.
            - No change after installing latest Logitech drivers.
            - No change after trying other usb ports.
correct? - Keyboard also fails to function using Win7 default driver (uninstalled the Logitech driver).
correct? - Reinstall of Windows 7 was a clean installation to a formatted hard drive.

my keyboard is working normally now
i used different usb ports on a usb hub i ve been using
i tried plugging it in directly to the pc and it triggered some driver installations for the usb ports

Good for you. Win 7 is usually pretty good about having the latest stuff available. If it doesnt, it goes and finds it. Least thats what I have run into.
Oh, and what happened with your video messin up?

Try to avoid USB hubs if you can, I've seen other issues where devices or drivers weren't found, detected, the hub stopped delivering power for some reason, etc. If you can avoid them and go straight to a port connected to the motherboard it's best.
